Most programs require at least 3 sessions per week to see results in 2-3 months. If you train less, you might still make progress, but it could take longer because the workout volume might be too low for faster results. Workouts range from 20 to 60 minutes depending on the program, giving you flexibility to fit them into your schedule.
Yes, you’ll need some basic equipment depending on the program. For example:
You don’t need all of these for every program. For example, if you’re learning a handstand, you’ll only need a box for support. The required equipment varies based on your chosen program, but it’s all simple and affordable compared to traditional gym gear.

Calixpert was created to make calisthenics simple and fun for everyone. Malin and Daniel believe that anyone can learn Calisthenics, no matter their age or fitness level. Reaching over 2.5 million people through our social media to inspire to start Calisthenics.
Calisthenics is a form of exercise where you use your own body weight for resistance to build strength, flexibility, and control. It includes moves like push-ups, pull-ups, squats, and planks. The best part is that you don’t need expensive equipment or a gym—just your body and some space to move! As you get stronger, calisthenics evolves. You start with basics like push-ups and pull-ups and progress to advanced moves like handstands, muscle-ups, or even planches. There’s no limit to how far you can go with calisthenics.
Calisthenics workouts are ideal for beginners because they are simple and adaptable to any fitness level. If regular push-ups are too hard, you can start with incline push-ups or knee push-ups and build your strength over time. For exercises like pull-ups, resistance bands can provide support, helping you complete the movement while gaining strength. Calisthenics also teaches real body control, making it the perfect choice for anyone starting their fitness journey.
Calisthenics requires very little equipment to get started—just your body and some space. Advanced exercises like pull-ups may need a bar or gym rings, but even these are affordable options compared to weights or machines. Simple tools like parallettes, a pull-up bar, or rings can elevate your workouts significantly and take your progress to the next level.
Calisthenics is an effective way to build muscle using just your body weight. Exercises like push-ups, dips, and pull-ups target your chest, back, arms, and shoulders, allowing you to grow stronger and more muscular. As you progress, harder variations like one-arm push-ups or muscle-ups add even more challenge. Along with building muscle, calisthenics improves body awareness and control, something traditional weightlifting doesn’t always provide.
Calisthenics and weightlifting both build strength but in different ways. Calisthenics relies on body weight for resistance, focusing on balance, coordination, and full-body movements. Weightlifting uses external weights like dumbbells or barbells, which can lead to faster muscle growth but might not emphasize control and flexibility. While calisthenics progresses more slowly at first, mastering the basics opens the door to advanced skills and impressive muscle-building potential.
The benefits of calisthenics include versatility, accessibility, and efficiency. You can perform these workouts anywhere, improving strength, balance, flexibility, and coordination without needing much equipment. Progressing to harder moves keeps the challenge fresh, and minimal investment in equipment makes it one of the most affordable fitness options.
Calisthenics helps women build strength, tone muscles, and improve overall fitness in an empowering way. It enables women to master moves like push-ups, pull-ups, and handstands, which boost confidence and showcase real progress. Without bulky equipment, calisthenics offers an accessible and effective workout for women of all ages and fitness levels.
Calisthenics can effectively replace traditional gym workouts by building strength, endurance, and body control using only your body weight. Advanced exercises like pull-ups, dips, and pistol squats make it possible to achieve excellent results without weights. While calisthenics is perfect for general fitness, those looking to lift extremely heavy weights or compete in bodybuilding might combine it with traditional gym training.
You can learn calisthenics on your own through online tutorials, videos, and guides. Many people succeed with self-guided practice, but working with a coach can provide personalized feedback and faster results. Online memberships like Calixpert also offer pre-recorded exercises and structured programs, allowing you to follow a guided plan at your own pace while still enjoying flexibility.
